Plan Your First Visit

Prior to your initial appointment, we will request that you complete a Medical History Questionnaire.

You can download a Medical History Questionnaire here.

You may complete it at home and bring it along to your first appointment or you will be requested to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the questionnaire at reception.

When your dentist is ready, you will be guided from the waiting room to the dental surgery. The Dentist and Dental Assistant will introduce themselves and ask if you have any specific concerns or issues with your teeth, gums or appearance of your smile and the purpose of your visit.

With the help of the Dental Assistant, your Dentist will then assess the current condition of your teeth and gums.

During this visit, the Dentist may request that digital dental x-rays be taken of your teeth and gums. A dental x-ray is the only accurate way that the dentist can ‘see’ between the teeth and under fillings.

At the end of your check-up, your Dentist will discuss the condition of your teeth and gums. If treatment is required, treatment options including the procedure, cost and other information will be discussed with you. After this discussion, a personalised treatment plan will be presented outlining the fees and the number of appointments required to complete the treatment.

Your Dentist may also offer you a scale and clean to remove tartar build-ups. A professionally applied fluoride application may also be offered. This is to assist in the reduction of dental decay and decrease the sensitivity of your teeth.

At the conclusion of your appointment your Dental Assistant will lead you back to reception for payment, health fund claiming and scheduling of additional appointments.

If you do not need to make additional appointments for treatment, you will be offered the option to receive a reminder for your 6 monthly check up.
